Costa Rica 2023
I’ve finally completed my sorting of the photos (over 4,000) that I took during our recent two week “birding” trip to Costa Rica and here are a few samples. During our trip we had the opportunity to spend some time around and between 8 different lodges in the northern part of the country, one within about 5 miles of the border with Nicaragua. We hiked in national parks and reserves, had boat rides on Cano Negro Lake and the Medio Queso Wetlands, and even stopped along the side of the road on occasion when our guide spotted one of the target birds. I’ve got to give a big “Thank You!” to our guide, Mel Cruz, who put us into positions for Pam to see and on occasion for me to photograph such a variety of birds. Pam was able to record 315 species of birds on this trip with 103 of them being new additions to her life list.
